Group limit servers

The problem with these awesome raid each others property and gain loot games is it becomes dominated by zerg groups.

Example: A lonely solo player hops on to test out this new game they have been hearing about, they farm a little materials make a nice comfortable sized ship and set out on their adventure, shortly after they are bombarded by a team of 10 that has been farming for the deathstar to rule the server and beat you not with skill but with pure number advantage, they are then raided and dont feel like grinding again for the same fate. BAM a player that will most likely not touch the game and not recommend it to friends.

This scenario stated above is what killed last oasis and other games of this sort, a game that does a good job at combating this dilemma is rust, a heavy PVP oriented game, they have their official servers that are no limit and are ruled by zergs, but the community has created solo duo and trio limit servers allowing for a small group of friends to hop on and play without grinding their life away and losing it all to a group of bad players that won the battle due to numbers.

Last oasis suffered from this, I began playing with one friend a measly duo, we were enjoying the content the game had to offer getting in to battles with small groups rising triumphant feeling on top of the world until we encountered a group of 15 players that overwhelmed us, later we began to start a clan since it seemed that was the only way to enjoy the game, shortly after this small group we started became a multiple hundred player clan, and it became not fun as that you were playing with a bunch of strangers and dominating servers with numbers became dull and numb, long story short we abandoned the clan and it ended up merging with a multi thousand player clan. look now and the game is dead, they have now released group limit servers, but it was too late.

I was an avid enjoyer of worlds adrift but unfortunately it suffered the same fate of large groups with mega ships.

Well the ideal goal is that new players wouldn’t be in danger of what you talk of. Since combat would be discouraged through game mechanics in early zones and void crystals allow you to keep your stuff. So by the time you would be in combat, you would be prepared.
