Hi Everyone, We're going to do a Q&A Session where we answer your questions on the 30th of May in Discord at 8pm BST.

Ask as many questions as you like about the developments of VA, We'll pick as many as we can and answer them, A UI Question, Music, Level Design, Ship Design, you name it we'll try and answer as many as we can.

Will there be Base Building?

We know that Ship Building and the ability to Decorate them will be added, but how about Land Bases? Land Bases can be a place where Clans/Factions can Store their Gear (For Public Use) and also add a place where people can build ships safely. Below are a few questions if it is going to be a thing
  • How will these be Balanced? Are there Restricted Islands. Is there a durability and/or time cap?
  • What will be possible uses of them? Can we Store gear, Provide Spawn points, have a More Advanced Shipyard, Upgrading Stations?
  • Is there a possibility of a Mobile Version of Land Bases? Aka Mother Ships.

Will there be pets? If yes, will we be able to use them as mounts or a means of propulsion (skywhale-drawn ship for example)?

1) How are y'all planning to do the multiplayer? hosted by y'all? or through photon or similar?
2) Do y'all plan on splitting the playerbase ? If so, how early? As one of the biggest downfalls of WA was splitting the playerbase too early.
3) Will there be a similar material mechanic like WA, where some mats give more damage, but are heavier, etc. If so, do you plan on allowing this to change player weapons attributes, eg. use a heavy metal for the bullets, and light metal for the gun, and the kick will be high and durability of the gun low cause your essentially firing .50 cal bullets out of a glock.

4) And my final question, for the dev that recommended I take the udemy game dev courses, How experienced would you want a potential dev to be? What skills would you like to see in a potential dev?

Will there be a system to party other players, for alliances that sort of stuff?

Will there be more tools in the ship editor?

Will there be a feature to import 3d models (for example ____.obj) in to the ship editor? honestly that would be cool because then you could import minature versions of ships from games/tv shows like Star Trek

I see no limit on questions per person so here we go.

World questions:
What will the floors separating the world layers be like? If they are cloudy will lower layers simply exist under perpetual stormy skies?
Will special equipment be required to stay in the more extreme layers?
How long do you expect an island to stay afloat and how long until it is recycled?
Approximately how long would it take to fly from island to island in a “good” ship?
Approximately how long would it take to fly from bottom to top or top to bottom in a “good” ship?

Ship questions:
Will ship speed be affected by any sort of aerodynamics?
At what range would you expect ship to ship combat to occur?
Will you be able to simply spawn on a friend's ship as a crewmate or will you have to meet up in the world and possibly abandon your ship?
Will there be any sort of radar or scanning tech?
Ship mounted resource gathering tools or just handheld?
Do ship cores require a supply of fuel to keep you afloat?
Is there any plan to allow ship to ship docking?
Can you make clear panels for windows?
Will making ships airtight protect you from the void smog?

Other questions:
Will character progression be exclusively tied to gear or will your character itself get better over time?
Anything about the magic system? (is it even still a thing?)
Is friendly fire on?
What is hiding in the mushrooms Aboleth?

I have a lot of question's but I will limit myself to 8 lol
  1. What is the stat of Void Adrift and when can we expect to have access to a more playable version of the game?
  2. Is there a time line you can provide us on the progress of the game?
  3. I heard that Void Adrift would support different gaming platform, is this true and if so will this be something that takes place in the near future?
  4. Will there be specific parts required to run your ship based on other parts on the ship? Steam Example: Boilers to steam pipe to steam engine monitored by steam valves and PSIG. Electrical Example: Solar panels to electrical wire to fuse box to electrical engine Monitored by Volt Meters.
  5. If the ships do require there to be some mechanical structure to them will there be a set of skills to learn making maintenance more effective?
  6. Will there be opportunity’s to explore the ruins and fiend things other than weapons, like Maps, Clothing, playable records, picture frames that can hold screen shots in them like WA had and other random things of interest?
  7. When your ship go’s down or parts of your ship falls of, how long do you have to retrieve the items or parts that hopefully hit ground and can another player claim the items for them self’s?
  8. Is there a way to protect your docking platform from other players in the game?
